The easiest way to give feedback is using Harry Levinson’s short and easy model in 3 steps:
1️⃣ Tell the other person what they did good or what you like about their behavior. That way you’ll encourage the good actions and behavior and they will feel comfortable to Listen to what you have to say because you start the conversation with the positive aspects.
2️⃣ Tell them what they did not manage to do so well. Keep in mind this is the negative aspect of the conversation, so be empathetic, but straightforward.
3️⃣ Point them in the right direction. Give advice on how to avoid such actions or behavior in the future.
And remember, always start the conversation after you’ve carefully observed the situation and gathered information so that your feedback is objective. Always talk about the behavior and the results of one’s actions and not about them themselves and their personality.
Give it a try! 😉
